When it comes to voting I think it's fair to say we are all now geared to expect the unexpected!
Managing Director of local estate agents Webbers explains “As yesterday’s results and the forming of a new coalition government unravels, when asked for advice from our clients and purchasers, we will be reassuring and our response will be, that as far as we are concerned it's business as usual and it really should be. We are not anticipating any significant impact on the housing market. Investing in property, the buying of homes has in the long term always been a sound investment in the UK, despite changes in Government, investing in property has always been a very safe bet”. Malcolm goes on to say “Let's not forget too that people buy homes for many reasons, life-style change, work and of domestic reasons - the fact we will have a different make up in terms of Government should not need to alter peoples home ownership plans and aspirations”.
Malcolm continues, “It would seem very likely that the a new coalition government will be formed over the next few days, with this in mind we should all remind ourselves that under the last coalition government the UK housing market actually performed well. At Webbers we will be confident, reassuring when necessary and continue doing what we do best, matching people with homes, we will always give an honest view and not get caught up in short term issues, when people are making long term decisions.”
