THE BUSINESS
This is a retirement sale for the current owners, having worked at the business since 1997 and purchasing it in 2007.
Operating the business currently on a seasonal basis (with scope to open all year round) and opening 5 days a week 9 am to 5 pm. The business is traded by the two owners with no staff.
There is a choice of around 200 bicycles including accessories and the bikes themselves can be hired from £13 per day.
Takings are in the region of £80,000 per annum but could be increased by offering food/snacks as well as the ice creams sold at the present time as well as expanding sales of electric bikes/scooters etc.
In addition the opening hours could be extended and the kayak hire trade which was once a busy part of the sales offering, could easily be re-instated.
Income is derived from bicycle rentals and sales, repairs and sale of parts.
There are cycles to suit all ages and abilities from tandems, trailers, tag-a-longs and trikes, to mountain bikes & hybrids.
The Dawes, Land Rover or Claud Butler hybrids offer the comfort of a touring bike and the gears of a mountain bike, they have a back rack for carrying bags and mudguards.
