Last week our Webbers Minehead and Exmoor teams were delighted to attend two of Somerset’s most beloved countryside events, the Exford Show on Wednesday 13 August 2025 and the 177th Dunster Show on Friday 15 August 2025. Joined by colleagues from our Somerset offices, it was a fantastic opportunity to celebrate local heritage, connect with the community, and enjoy two of the most anticipated dates in the rural calendar.

Celebrating Somerset’s Traditions

The Exford Show has been part of Exmoor life since 1889 and it remains a highlight for locals and visitors alike. What began as a small horse show has grown into a full celebration of Exmoor’s rural identity. With classes for Exmoor ponies, sheep, horses as well as parades of hounds, traditional crafts, and local produce, the show is a wonderful snapshot of life on the moor.

Two days later we were proud to be part of the 177th Dunster Show. Set against the breathtaking backdrop of Dunster Castle, the show is recognised as one of the country’s finest one day agricultural events. Rich with livestock competitions, equestrian classes, trade stands, and family entertainment, the Dunster Show has become a summer tradition that draws thousands of visitors to West Somerset each year.

These events are not only about farming and rural skills, they are also about people, community, and continuity. Year after year they provide a space where generations come together to celebrate the land, traditions, and achievements of Somerset.

The Webbers Stand: Balloons, Biscuits and Sunglasses

This year both shows were exceptionally well attended and the Webbers stand was buzzing with activity from start to finish. Children were especially delighted with our bright red Webbers balloons which created a cheerful splash of colour across the showgrounds. Visitors also enjoyed our specially baked Webbers and Fine and Country biscuits, homemade sausage rolls and Pimm's along with goodie bags packed with treats and, for the first time, our stylish Webbers sunglasses which quickly became a crowd favourite on what turned out to be two gloriously sunny summer days.

For our teams these events offered the perfect opportunity to engage with clients, answer property questions, and showcase the strength of Webbers and Fine and Country across Somerset. Whether it was a quick chat with long standing clients or meeting those who were discovering us for the first time, the atmosphere was one of warmth, connection, and shared enjoyment.

Reflections from the Team

Ginny Saunders, Exmoor Property Director, shared: “The Exford and Dunster Shows are such pillars in our community calendar, giving us the perfect setting to connect with clients in a relaxed, friendly way. This year’s turnout was truly fantastic and it was wonderful to be part of it.”

Lorraine David Jenkins, Office Manager for Webbers Minehead and Exmoor, said:  “From familiar faces to new connections, it was a joy meeting everyone. The children’s delight in the balloons and sunglasses added so much energy and colour to the day. It was a real reminder of how proud we are to be part of this community.”

Tim Bennett, Somerset Regional Director, added: “These shows are the heartbeat of rural Somerset and it was inspiring to see our teams unite with such warmth and enthusiasm. They remind us why being part of this community matters so much and why Webbers continues to play such an active role in local life.”

Looking Ahead

The Exford and Dunster Shows highlight the best of Somerset, from its farming traditions and equestrian excellence to the sense of togetherness that makes our county so special. For Webbers it was a privilege to be part of these historic events once again, to celebrate the heritage of the area, and to spend time with so many of you.

Thank you to everyone who visited our stand, stopped for a chat, or carried one of our balloons into the sunshine. We are already looking forward to next year’s shows and to many more conversations, connections, and celebrations across Somerset.
