ClovellyLectures ready to play world host once again

Clovellylectures is an open forum that has brought some of the most powerful leaders of the UK to Devon. It is once again delighted to be hosting an evening of information and political enlightenment from its base in the unique and picturesque village of Clovelly on the stunning North Devon coast.

ClovellyLectures is a lecture forum on world affairs designed to bring together a varied audience including business owners together with some of the biggest influencers from across the world. The forum, which also presents talks in London and India, Mumbai, provides a unique opportunity to hear and invite discussion from power brokers whose decisions directly affect the way we live and the choices we are presented.

Zeenat  Rous who established Clovelly Lectures in 2011 explains “The purpose of this forum is simply  to bring policymakers out of the corridors of power and into a relaxed setting where people can meet them and hear what they have to say.”

Past lectures ( www.clovellylectures.com ) have included a range of topics including ‘How Spies Think’, ‘Religion in Society’,’ Monarch and Parliament’, ‘Climate Change’, and ‘What Next for Britain’ and have been presented by a variety of special guests including former Defence Secretary Sir Michael Fallon, The Rt Hon Geoffrey Cox QC MP, Air Chief Marshal Sir Richard Johns, Sir Peter Bazalgette, Sir David Omand GCB and many others. Their posts in government and society have varied from  Director of GCHQ, UK Security and Intelligence Coordinator, Secretary of the Home Office, Defence, Chairman of the Arts Council, Media and so forth.

This June, after an unforeseen break caused by the pandemic, Clovelly Lectures is pleased to be able to reopen its doors and invite members new and old to join them for an evening of discourse and discussion.

Attendees will have the opportunity to hear from Lord Mervyn King of Lothbury as he speaks on the subject of “Coping with Radical Uncertainty.” This prestigious event will also feature a black-tie dinner (Questions asked after courses) a great opportunity for guests to meet and discuss against the unequalled backdrop of the panoramic beautiful village of Clovelly.

Mrs Rous tells us “I am delighted to have the opportunity once again, to host this most celebrated and illustrious event. Guests can be certain of an engrossing and informative evening. We have a unique opportunity to welcome the ex-Governor of the Bank Of England to our Forum and hear his analysis of these rapidly changing, confusing and challenging times.”

The event is to take place on the evening of Saturday 25th June 2022 at the Clovelly Visitors Centre. For ticket prices, availability and to book please email clovellylectures11@gmail.com or telephone 01237 431200 or for more information visit the Clovelly Lectures website clovellylectures.com.
